What it does
No time clock to buy
Replace the dedicated time-clock machine with a tablet your team already knows how to use. One tablet covers an entrance.
Walk-up face recognition
The tablet recognizes any worker you've added to the system and records their attendance — nobody types an ID or signs in.
Automatic in, out, and breaks
QuTime reads each worker's schedule and records clock-in, clock-out, and breaks automatically. The worker just taps once.
Stops buddy punching
A live-face check rejects photos, videos played on a screen, and masks, so one worker can't clock in for someone else.
How it works
Step up
A worker walks up to the tablet and taps Clock in.
Face check
A quick face check confirms it's a real, present person — not a photo or a video.
Recognized and recorded
The system matches the face to the right worker, reads their schedule to decide clock-in or clock-out, and records it — about two seconds, no typing.
How to set it up
Check what you need first
Your organization is on a QuTime plan, has at least one work location set up, and has workers who have added their face (with their consent). See 'Before you start' below.
Add the device in the admin
In the web admin, open Attendance → Kiosk Devices, add a device, choose the work location it sits at, and copy the one-time pairing code.
Pair the tablet
Install the QuTime app on the tablet, open Profile → Kiosk Mode, and type in the pairing code. The tablet switches to the standby clock-in screen.
Lock the tablet to this screen
Once the tablet is on the standby clock-in screen (Step 3), lock it there: turn on iOS Guided Access (triple-click the side button) or Android Screen Pinning so it stays on that screen and no one can exit without an admin.
Adjust the settings
In Kiosk settings you can set how strict the face match is and choose automatic or on-screen in/out. You can also allow a PIN fallback: if the face check fails (e.g. poor lighting), a worker clocks in with their worker ID + their own PIN — each worker sets their own PIN in the mobile app.
Mount it and you're done
Put the tablet on a stand or wall mount near the entrance, plugged in. Workers can clock in right away — there's nothing else to install.
Security & fraud prevention
Blocks fake faces
A face check confirms a real, live person in front of the camera and blocks printed photos, videos played on a screen, and masks.
Tuned to avoid mix-ups
On a shared tablet the face match is set stricter than on a personal phone, so look-alikes aren't confused — and you can adjust it for your organization.
Tied to the right location
Each tablet is linked to the work location it sits at, so every clock-in is recorded at the correct site — it doesn't rely on phone GPS, which can be faked.
Consent and privacy
Face data is used only for workers who have given clear consent (GDPR Article 9). If the tablet recognizes the wrong person, a 'Not me?' button cancels the entry on the spot.
Before you start
An active QuTime plan — Kiosk is included, not a paid add-on.
At least one work location set up for the tablet to belong to.
Workers who have added their face with their consent — from their phone or through an invite from an admin.
A tablet (iPad or Android) with a front camera and Wi-Fi.
An admin account to add and pair the tablet.
Where it fits
Retail stores and franchises with a shared tablet in the back office.
Restaurants and cafés where staff don't carry a phone during their shift.
Warehouses and distribution centers with a single entrance.
Factories replacing old fingerprint or badge machines.
Any on-site team that wants attendance without giving everyone a device.
Replace the time clock
One tablet for your whole team's attendance — confirmed by face, with no extra hardware to buy.
